Audrey Whitlock Lampkin

Audrey Whitlock Lampkin, 93, of Charles City, VA, passed away on July 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Audrey was born on February 2, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Whitlock and Josephine Whitlock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent W. Lampkin; brother, Ernest Whitlock; and sister, Ann Williams.

Audrey attended John Marshall High School. She was a seamstress for Friedman and Marks and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Henrico, VA. Her hobbies included sewing and knitting. She loved making Christmas ornaments for family and friends. In her earlier years, she loved water skiing, boating and trips to Smith Mountain Lake.

Audrey is survived by her brother, Landon Whitlock, Richmond, VA; 3 children, Milton Lampkin and his wife, Franki Lampkin of Henrico, VA, Brenda Johnson and husband Mike Johnson of Charles City, VA, and Audrey Lee Harvey of Charles City, VA. Her grandchildren include Tracy Berryhill and husband, Rick of Loudoun County, VA, Shannon Towles and husband, Jason of Palm Coast, FL, Diane Saffell and husband, Fletcher of Gloucester, VA, Mary Matney and husband, Michael of Carl Junction, Missouri, Erin Engel and husband, Jason of New Kent, VA, Sarah Lampkin of New Kent, VA, Allen Call, Brenda Jo Cramer of King and Queen County, VA, her brother-in-law Irvin Lampkin of Chesterfield, VA and sisters-in-law Carol Lampkin of New Kent, VA and Irene Archuleta of Ohio. She also has 15 great-grandchildren.

The family request that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Rd. Richmond, VA 23231.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4th at 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Rd., Richmond, VA 23231. Funeral Service will be on Friday, August 5th at 10AM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Rd, Henrico, VA 23231. Followed by an Interment at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Park Dr., Sandston, VA 23150.
