Bernadine “Bunny” Pinter Moore, one of the most beautiful and selfless people to walk this earth, left us to be with her heavenly family on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at the age of 76. She passed away peacefully in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by her earthly family.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Joe” and Lucille Pinter, Sr.; her brother, Marcus “Mark” Pinter; her sister-in-law, Odessa Gillend; and her brother-in-law, Paul Moore . Bunny is survived by her husband, Morris Moore Jr.; her children, Veronica Oakley (husband Donald) and Morris “Spencer” Moore III (wife Melanie); her grandchildren, Kayla Oakley, Kyle Oakley, and Vivien Moore; her brother, Joseph Pinter Jr. (wife Linda); her “sisters”-in-law, Darlene Pinter (wife of Mark), Judy Moore (wife of Paul); and many special nieces, nephews, other family members, neighbors, and friends.
Bunny was born in Gary, West Virginia and graduated from Gary High School. She had a life-long love of music and dancing, with some special memories of being a drum majorette and going to dances in Welch. Bunny, also known lovingly as “Grammy” to her three grandchildren, was a beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. After moving to Richmond, she loved caring for and guiding her family. Bunny loved children. She was the “adopted mom” to many of her children’s friends and cousins. Bunny was a cub scout leader, cheer coach, childcare provider and counselor to many. According to her granddaughter, Vivien, “she was the best grammy in the world”. Her door was always open to her family and she always knew exactly what to say.
Bunny will be dearly missed, although we know she is dancing today with her father in paradise. A celebration of life will be held with more details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The American Lung Association.
