BATKINS, Brenda Lewis, 64 of Highland Springs passed away on December 31, 2014. Brenda retired from the State of Virginia after 30 years, and was currently employed by Northrop Grumman. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing Bingo and loved to read. Brenda loved going to the beach on the Outer Banks and traveling with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Clay Lewis and Frances Hall Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Batkins Nida; son-in-law, Travis P. Nida; granddaughter, Alexa Shannon Nida; brother, Robert Lewis; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, from 1:00 – 3:00pm with a memorial and celebration of life service to start at 3:00pm. All services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S.
