Carolyn J. Presley, 86, of Quinton, Va., departed this life on October 22, 2015, after a long illness. Carolyn was born in Blackstone, Va. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Presley; her father, Robert Jackson; her mother, Ida Gibson Jackson; along with three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Bowery; a granddaughter, Melissa Pitts; two great-grandchildren of Quinton; a sister, Bertha Roberts of Crewe, Va.; and a special niece, Brenda Adcock of Lawrenceville, Va. Also left to cherish her memory are loving friends, neighbors and caretakers, Etsel and Faye Snedegar and their three daughters, Debbie, Louise and Sandi. Thanks to Debbie Wilson for the love and care she gave to Carolyn as her friend and part-time caretaker, also Henrico Health & Rehab for the loving care they showed her while she was there. Graveside service will be at Washington Memorial Gardens at 12 noon Tuesday, October 27, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Association.
