He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richmond Lewis Jr.; mother, Jane L. Lewis; sister, Kathryn J. Lewis; and his brother, Robert L. Lewis.
Rick retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. He loved his dogs, gardening, birds, going to Hatteras, and music, especially Jimmy Buffett and John Prine. Rick was a gentle giant that had a larger than life laugh.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Edi C. Lewis; daughter, Leslie A. Leggett (Craig); grandchildren, Caroline, Will, and Josh Leggett; siblings, Carol L. Chervenak (Mark) and Anne L. Young (Wayne); sister-in-law, Barbara L. Lewis; nieces and nephews, Philip, Nicholas, Emily, Connor, Allie, Kate, and Claire.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 W. Williamsburg Rd., Sandston, Va. 23150.
