Charlotte, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaves behind a sister, Mary; five children, John (Susie), Donnie (Vicki), Cheryl McClain, Brian (Susan), Floyd (Rachel); seven grandchildren, Shannon, Eric, Devon, Wendy, Melissa, Caitlin, Olivia; and nine great-grandchildren, Arika, Collin, Ruby, Nick, Rush, Maddox, A.J., Mila, Jackson.

Charlotte enjoyed listening to country music. Her favorites were Conway Twitty, George Jones, Vince Gill, and Randy Travis. She also enjoyed shopping with her grandchildren, working puzzles with Susan and her granddaughters, doing yard work, planting flowers, and placing decorations in just the right spots. Her decorating for Christmas and Halloween in and around the home could not be beat. Charlotte loved family time, fishing, camping, and having the Big Family Cook-Off, where she would make handmade trophies. She also had a passion for painting.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
