Clyde Linwood “Linny” Miles, 95, of Varina passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II, receiving the Bronze Star for his service during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the 99th Division Association, VFW of Mechanicsville and Varina Lion’s Club. He was an active member for many years at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church and retired with over 40 years of service from Richmond Battery Ignition. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Katie Miles; and his wife, Dorothy May Williams Miles and is survived by his best friend and travel companion, Ruby Wood; daughter, Lois Ann Miles; son, Linny Miles, Jr. and his wife, Chris; grandchildren, Holly, Randy and Jason; great-grandchildren, Meredith, Jake and Luke. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 23, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
