

In addition to being a devoted mother and a loving "Nana" (grandmother) to her granddaughter, Dianne was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church where she was an active member of the youth choir in her younger days, participated in mission trips, and had primary roles in plays associated with the church.
She attended four years of Bluefield College in Virginia after graduating from Highland Springs High School; worked at Travelers Insurance Company for a number of years; later worked as a Chef for a local Richmond restaurant for 10 plus years and served as an Associate with Blockbusters before retiring due to disabilities.
She will be missed by all who knew her as well as her family and closest friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Logan Mumpower and father, Robert J. Layton.
Dianne is survived by her son, Charles Mitchell Mumpower of Chesterfield; granddaughter, Madelynn Clarke of Carson, VA; husband, Charles Craig Mumpower (Artimus) of Hinton, WV; mother, Phyllis M. Layton of Highland Springs; mother-in-law, Burleane Mumpower of Hinton, WV; sister, Susan A. Layton of New Kent; and brothers, Wayne (Donna) of Richmond, Donald of Highland Springs, Stephen (Jennifer) of Goochland, and Brian Layton (Jeanine) of New Kent.
There will be a private graveside service at Washington Memorial Park.
