Douglas Eugene Harris Sr. "Junie"

Harris, Douglas Eugene, Sr. “Junie”, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 10, 2014 at the age of 71. He was born and raised in Richmond, VA, raised his family in Lanexa, VA, and for the last 7 years, he has resided in Port Richey, FL. Junie was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert & Lillian Harris, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Naomi. Together they raised 6 children: Douglas “Buck”, Angela Curtis “Sissy”, Ronald “Bubby” (Michelle), James “Skeeter” (Amy), Tammy Mallory (Rob), and Darrell (Tammy), 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Junie was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served his country in the United States Army and was a carpenter by trade. He loved to fish, watch Nascar, and enjoyed watching General Hospital and Castle. Last but not least, he left this world without ever telling us where “back yonder” was. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231; where a chapel service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11 am. Interment in Washington Memorial Park.
