

Earl Edward Corbin, Sr., 83, of Varina, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Moore Corbin; parents, Leslie and Ruth Corbin; brothers, Linwood and James Corbin; and great-granddaughter, Faith Corbin. He is survived by his long-time partner, Gerry Blanks; children, Eddie Corbin (Sharon), Brenda Newcomb and Cheryl Corbin; grandchildren, Thomas Corbin (Crissy), Tiffany Broyles (Bubba) and April Woods (Nick); four great-grandsons, Lee and Hunter Corbin, Phillip Broyles and Joseph Woods; twin brother and lifelong best friend, Merle Corbin; beloved sister-in-law, Louise Corbin; and niece, Connie Arnett and her family. Earl was a retired long haul truck driver and diesel mechanic. In his retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard, tinkering on small engines, watching westerns and family gatherings. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will be held Wednesday, February 28, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. Earl’s children would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Gerry for her many years of love and devotion to their father. Also, a very special thank you to his hospice nurse, Megan and personal care assistant, Nicole of At Home Care Hospice, for their compassion and guidance during his illness. In addition, we are eternally grateful to Pastor Kevin Branham, Connie Arnett and Ronald Toney in assisting our father in his transition from this life into his eternal home in heaven.
