Edward L Comer

Edward Leigh Comer, 70, of Highland Springs, succumbed to mesothelioma after a valiant fight on Monday, August 12, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mallie and Clarence P. Comer; brother, Robert A. Comer. Edward was an asbestos worker for Local 88 then Local 85 with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Rod & Gun club as well as the Richmond East Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara R. Comer; daughters, Sherri R. Comer and Nancy L. Comer; grandchildren, Curtis R. Walton and Brandon C. Lail, whom lived with his grandfather; special and close friends, Joe and Carol Welsh; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue Richmond, Va 23231. Family will receive friends following the service at the home of Joe and Carol Welsh. Their address is 1880 Old Hanover Rd Sandston, VA 23150. Interment will be private.
