Elizabeth Sue Dameron

Elizabeth Sue Dameron, of Quinton, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2013, on her 69th birthday, at home surrounded by her closest loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents, Robin and Phyllis Routt and her brother, Vincent “Bruiser” Routt. Sue was born and raised in Foxwells, Virginia and spent the remainder of her life in Varina and New Kent with her beloved husband, Charles Dennis Dameron, with whom she recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Sue was retired from the Workmen’s Compensation Board after 19 years and from Harleysville Insurance Company after 22 years. Sue was a wonderful & strong woman who always put others first. In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by her sister, Phyllis Mae Blankenship (Mike); sister-in-law, Pam Routt; brother-in-law, Robert E. Clarke, Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews including devoted nephews Robbie, Chris and George Clarke; best friend, Amy Tu; and wonderful caregiver, Mary Beth Durrette. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue Richmond, VA 23231, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Interment following at Washington Memorial Park.
