Emma Jean Cozart

Emma Jean Cozart (formally, Jean Dickerman), 90, of Richmond, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Cozart and sister, Letonia Davis. She is survived by her children, Carlton A. “Andy” Hall (Judy Crisman), Lynn Paige (Jim) and Todd Hall (Betty); seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jean retired from the Virginia Army National Guard as a publications specialist and was also the Federal Women’s Program Coordinator for the state. She loved entertaining and watching her grandchildren grow from her James River home in Charles City County. She had a full and colorful life and enjoyed travelling the world. She will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
