George R. Fowler

George R. Fowler, 76, of New Kent, VA passed away on January 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy; his first wife, Eileen; and his second wife, JoAnn. He was a retired machine captain with Nabisco and a member of the West Point Church of God. He was a member of Southern Gospel Singers for over 20 years and was a member of the Bakery Confectionery and Tobacco Workers Union for 30 years. He is survived by his sons, George Fowler and William Fowler (Debbie); and grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Dominic, Shawn-Michael, Daniel and Brandon; step-children, Rodney Woodard and Shean Shields (Charlie); grandchildren, Temple, Tucker, John, Jeremy, Stephen and Beth Anne. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will be held Friday, February 7, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
