Gladys F. Brown

On Wednesday, February 10, 2016, Gladys Flannagan Brown, age 80, of Henrico County, Virginia, was called home to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her son, Aubrey Hampton Brown Jr.; and husband, Aubrey Hampton Brown Sr. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Brown Snipes (Keith), Patricia Brown Bonwell (Bill); grandchildren, Aubrey Hampton Brown III (Valerie), Casey Leigh Brown, Anthony Keith Snipes, Jr. and Maria Isabella Bonwell; great-grandchildren, Lucille Addison Brown and Aubrey Hampton Brown IV; siblings, Phyllis Murphy, Elizabeth Allen and Richard Flannagan. Gladys was a homemaker who raised her children to be strong in their faith and to fear and love the Lord. She kept the books for her husband’s general contracting business and served as the secretary and a Sunday school teacher at Fellowship Baptist Church. Gladys found happiness and delight in encouraging and supporting her children and grandchildren. We love you and will miss our “Hulk.” The family will receive friends from 12 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va., where a memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va. 23150. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
