"One shot", "dad", " husband", "grampa", "paw paw", "granpappy", "mean thing", "old man", "HAL" just to mention a few names he was known by. He was a wonderful amazing person full of love for nature, hunting and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He was not your typical man, father, grand-pa or great grand-pa. He always made you smile no matter what your mood. He carried a stern look with a never ending flow of love and assertiveness. He always went beyond the ranks for his beloved wife and family. We will miss all his silly faces, warm smiles and his strong one of a kind "bear hug" hugs. One of his last coherent statements was, " please do me a favor...smile". As we remember "HAL", let us do it with a smile!
