Irene Jefferson Emery

EMERY, IRENE JEFFERSON, age 86 of Henrico, joined her Lord and Savior in her eternal home in heaven on Saturday, February 7, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Emery. She is survived by her 3 children, Eddie Emery (Kay), Randy Emery (Robin), & Sharon Eggleston(Robin); seven grandchildren, Wendy Mallory (Ryan), Amy Curtsinger (Ernie), Brandon Eberhard (Mandy), Kristen Bennett (Andrew), Shannon Bowman (Eric), Justin Emery and Christopher Eggleston; 4 great-grandchildren, Madison and Reece Mallory, Caiden Giles and Alexis Bowman; sister, Ruby Jefferson Emery of Baltimore, MD. Irene had a great love for her Lord and family. She was a great cook and had a passion for crocheting. She always put others ahead of herself. She retired from Travelers Insurance Co. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15th from 6 to 8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231; where funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 16 at 11am. Irene will be laid to rest in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA.
