James Hurrell Booker

James H. Booker “Jimmy”, 81, of Henrico, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elsie Booker; brothers, Speedy Booker and Smiley Booker; and stepson, Tony New.

He was the owner and operator of James H. Booker Construction, serving the Richmond area for over 50 years. Jimmy loved Nascar, going to many Nascar races and eventually watching them on TV, Going to Drag races. He also loved classic cars, over the years collecting antiques, including his beloved 1968 Chevy Truck. He was the best friend anyone could ask for. He lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Sherry B. Booker and their daughter, Crystal Macon (Quentin); his sons, Todd Booker and Mark Booker (Dawn); and his step sons, Randy New (Debbie) and Larry Lloyd; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a large circle of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 5 to 7pm, Monday, March 2 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. A graveside service will be held 11am, Tuesday, March 3 at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA. 23150

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
