James Irvin & Lula Stanley "Madge" Carlton

CARLTON, JAMES IRVIN, 83, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 and LULA STANLEY CARLTON “Madge”, 82, passed away on Monday, October 06, 2014, of Varina, VA. Mr. Carlton is preceded in death by his parents, R.T. and Myrtle Carlton. Mrs. Carlton is preceded in death by her father, Lester Stanley; and mother, Barbara Panici. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton were the owners of Carlton’s County Store and members of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church. They are survived by their children, Barbara Patterson (Brad), Dennis Carlton, Michael Carlton (Donna); grandchildren, Jeff, Angie, Ryan, B.J., Dave, Dylan, Jamie; ten great-grandchildren; Mr. Carlton’s brother, Weldon Carlton; Mrs. Carlton’s brothers, Jud Stanley, Tommy Stanley (Margaret); sisters, Joyce Stoffell, Randy Powell; a host of nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Kathy Evelyn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 10, 2014 from 4-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral will be conducted on Thursday, October 11, 11am at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd. Henrico, VA 23231. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
