Vass, Jean, 59, of Sandston, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Mary Martin; sister, Frances Bell; and brother, Edward Martin. Jean was a former employee of AT&T and a retired supervisor with Nabisco. She was a member of New Kent Christian Center and a member of Cancer Fighters. Jean is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Smith (Chuck) and Angela Vass (Zac); six grandchildren, Lindsey, Logan, Garrett, Tara, Emma, and Ayden; brother, Bobby Martin; and host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231; where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 27 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park.
