Boggs, Lilly Madsen, 84, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Lilly was born in Elko, VA, and was very proud of her Danish heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hertha Madsen; daughter, Karen Edwards; sister, Rita Wright Walker; and brother, Jimmy Madsen. She is survived by Bob, her loving husband of 65 years; and children, Cindy Smith and husband, Farin, Patti Baicy, and Tim Boggs; grandchildren, Kevin Smith (Katie), Joshua Smith (Marissa), Zachary Baicy, and Samantha Shait (Josh); and great grandson, Camden Shait. Lilly retired from Chesterfield County Building Inspection Department after 26 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Branches Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School class; a member and past president of ACCA Temple Provettes; and in later years, a part of the First Baptist Church television ministry. Lilly cherished the time traveling with Bob in their RV and the many years they spent on the Chesapeake Bay fishing on their boat “Reel Dream.” She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her family. The family thanks Heartland Hospice, especially, Nikki, Melissa, Jessica and LaVone for their loving care and support. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, from 2-4 and 5-7 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond 23231. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel, 2709 Monument Ave., Richmond, 23220, enter through Mulberry Street parking lot. Interment will be private at a later date.
