Mary Carolyn Bowyer, 79, of Sandston passed away quietly on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was born on October 20, 1936 to John J. and Connie M. Westbrook. Mary was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church and a member of Fairfield Ruritan Club. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Bowyer Sr.; and her children Howard E. Bowyer Jr, and John M. Bowyer. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey, Gregory, Charles (Pharavy), and Christopher (Dawn); three grandchildren, Melissa, Asia, and Aaron; and siblings, Patricia W. Chalkley and John J. Westbrook Jr. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum.
