Mrs. Mary P Osbourne

OSBOURNE, Mary Frances “Sis,” 79, of Varina, who was born on January 31, 1937, went to be with the Lord on December 15th, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Billie and Gene Poole; her husband, Richard G. Osbourne, Sr.; and her sister, Cary Lee Dowdy. She is survived by her sons, Richard G. Osbourne, Jr. (Jill) and Joseph E. Osbourne (Robin); daughter, Barbara L. Osbourne (Kenitra); sister, Barbara Woodcock (Walter); brother-in-law, William E. Dowdy, Sr., all of Varina, as well as many grand and great-grandchildren. She was a retired rural carrier for the USPS at the Sandston PO. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long time member of the Hardy Central Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Ramblers. She was also a former member of the Glendale Ruritan. She loved the outdoors and her Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue. Services will be held at Hardy Central Baptist Church at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunflower Gardens Activities Department, 5305 Plaza Dr. North Prince George, VA 23860.
