Michael Warren Corbin

It is with a heavy heart we announce that Michael Warren Corbin of Shacklefords, Va. lost his battle with cancer at the age of 64 as he slept in his bed at home in the early morning hours of October 14, 2023.

Anyone that knew him would describe him as a fun-loving goofball, great friend, determined hard worker, and most of all, dedicated to his family. He enjoyed living every day as if it was his last, due to his history.

Michael was a retired Master Diesel Technician and in his free time, a handyman carpenter who could fix or build most anything. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing on the water and fishing.

Michael was preceded in life by his daughter, Susan Dawson; brother, David Corbin; and mother, Beverley Wallace. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Corbin Prosise; grandchildren, Skyla Corbin, Casy and Megan Dawson, Warren McPhetridge; brothers, Raymond, Edward, James, Ronald, Steven, Eugene, Hank; sister, Delilah Stevenson; first wife, Janice Brown; many nieces and nephews; a large extended family; his beloved dog, Chucky; longtime friend and companion, Brenda; and too many other friends to list.

A viewing will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231 on Friday, October 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on the beach at Tucker's Recreational Park in Shacklefords, Va. on November 11 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory with GiveSendGo. Fund are to help with final expenses and St. Jude's Hospitals for Children.

Michael will be deeply missed by all.
