GOODE, Richard Lee, age 71, departed this life on April 5, 2014. He was born to Forest Lee and Gladys Harpine Goode. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jack Lee Goode; and grandson David Lee Goode, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Barden Goode; sons, Richard Bryon and David Lee Goode; granddaughter, Jessica Marion Goode; sister, Miriam G. O’Connor; and a host of family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1964 to 1966. He was a retired Animal Protection Officer with the Henrico County Police Department. Richard never met a stranger and he genuinely cared about people. We cherish our memories until we meet him again. Arrangements are being handled by Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Virginia where visitation will be on Wednesday, April 9th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm, also, where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday April 10th at 11am. Pastor Dan Shafer officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
