Robert “Bob” Gary, 61, of Charles City, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Gary, Sr.; brother, Bruce Gary; and sister, Brenda Powell. He is survived by his wife, Susan Gary; son, Anthony Baxter; grandchild, Antonia Brown; great-grandchildren, Tyreese Lemon and Heaven Walker; mother, Hazel Gary; sister, Betty Dupre; brothers, William F. Gary, Jr. and Beverly Eugene Gary; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 6, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 7, at 3 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park.
