Robert Kenneth Hopkins

HOPKINS, Robert Kenneth, 92, of Highland Springs, went home to be with The Lord Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel E. Dungan Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. He was active in the VFW and had served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy as a combat medic. He is survived by his son, Robert Allen Hopkins, and his wife, Jeanne; granddaughters, Kimberly H. Rogers, Julie H. Chiles (Doug), Kristy H. Morgans (Mike) and Melanie D. Hopkins; great-granddaughters, Abigail Hall, Katie Evans and Zoe Evans. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where his funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Although flowers will be welcome, memorial contributions may be made to New Bridge Baptist Church.
