Robert Allen Yates Sr.

YATES, Robert Allen, Sr., 91, of New Kent, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Caudle Yates; parents, Robert Lee Yates Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Butler; and daughter, Jean Allen Hostetter Talley. Robert retired as an Instrument Mechanic and Manger from E.I. DuPont in 1986. He is survived by his sons, Robert Allen Jr. and David Scott; and brothers, Frank Yates and Owen “Wayne” Yates. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, 5061 Hopewell Rd., New Kent, Va. 23124.
