He will be watching over his children, Temple & Tucker, his soul mate and devoted wife, Mary, his sister, Shean Shields and her husband Charlie, as well as their four children, Rodney’s niece and nephews, extended family, and the many who knew and loved him.
Rodney was unapologetically himself. His unique sense of wit and obscure humor left you wondering which end of the joke you were on. He knew just how to help you laugh at yourself and not take things too seriously. Always with a smirk on his face, he brought joy to those around him every day.
Master carpenter, avid fisherman, outdoorsman, collector, craftsman, and musician- a multi-talented rock n roll man who loved to work with his hands. His mother Jo Ann introduced him to guitar when he was young, and throughout his life he honed his style, and also picked up the drums, keyboard, even a plastic ukulele he fished out of the dumpster and resuscitated. Rodney shared the gift of music with just about everyone he came into contact with.
Rarely did Rodney deny anyone in need of help. He was selfless and committed to life, family, and friendships. Rodney will be dearly missed, but always with us.
See the humor in each day, in Rodney’s honor.
