Russell E. "Froggie" Hobson, Jr.

Russell E. "Froggie" Hobson, Jr., 89, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2025. Born in Virginia on August 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Russell Earl Hobson, Sr. and Lydia Cvacho Hobson.

Froggie was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Hobson, and his siblings, Betty Ann Jacob, Barbara Jean Hobson, Marie Hobson Hilling, Robert "Bobby" Hobson. He was a retired brick mason, foreman, estimator, and worked as a Union Representative with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen (BAC) in Richmond. In his younger years, he served in the Army National Guard. Froggie enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar Racing, but mostly his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ann J. Hobson; his son, Rusty Hobson and his wife, Lisa; and his grandchildren, Michael Hobson, Rachel Hobson, Brett Hobson, and Kelly Lu Daniel. He also leaves behind his sister, Shirley Stone, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Masonic Home of Virginia for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Nelsen Funeral Home, located at 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, 23231, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
