Ruth M. Carreras

CARRERAS, Ruth Minter, age 87, of Richmond, passed away on December 28, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Minter; husband, Joseph Allen Carreras; and brother, John L. Minter Jr. “Pete.” Ruth is survived by her children, Joseph A. Carreras Jr. “J.C.” (Ruth Anne) and Judith C. Crenshaw (Doug); grandchildren, Joseph A. Carreras III “Joey,” Brian R. Carreras (Rita), James D. Crenshaw (Elizabeth), Timothy A. Carreras, Robin “Courtney” Crenshaw; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ann M. Hardy and Betty M. Barnett. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Va.
