Ruth Christine Arrington Saunders

SAUNDERS, Ruth Christine Arrington, born October 20, 1922, passed away peacefully at home March 5, 2018. She was the daughter of the late L.O. and Fannie Edwards Arrington of Red Bud, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.A. Saunders, 1997; two sisters, Shirley Arrington of Red Bud, N.C. and Elsie Maye Ladd of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Aubra Lee Arrington of Red Bud, N.C.; and grandchild, Buck York of Henrico, Va. Mrs. Saunders is survived by her three children, Chris York, David Saunders and Bill Saunders, all of Henrico County; grandchildren, Amy Durrette, Mike York, Ty York, Kelly Saunders and Zack Saunders; seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah and Rachel Durrette and Calvin, Meghan, Carson and Mason York; brother, Graham Arrington of Sanford, N.C.; sisters, Marjorie Coggins of Nashville, N.C., Verlyne Clarke of Antioch, Tenn. and Linda Evans of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. She was a longtime member of Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church. She loved being there with her many friends. The family thanks the caregivers for their great care these last few years, Dawn, Sonya, Becky, Sharon, Vivian, Stephanie, Connie and Nancy. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where services will be held on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. in the chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
