Shirley McCauley Palmer, 82, passed away in the presence of her loving family Saturday, May 17, 2014. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Palmer and mother, Louis Sandford. She was a bookkeeper for many years at several prominent companies before retiring. Shirley cherished family gatherings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, beach vacations, and her extended family at Autumn Care and living in Middlesex County. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Shackelford (Irvin), and Rosie McGann (Larry); grandchildren, Robbie Watkins (Kathy), and Tanya Cornwell (Jeffrey); great-grandchildren, Kensley and Landon Watkins, Garrison and Grady Cornwell; brother, Bill Sanford; and a host of friends and family. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; with funeral services to immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. All services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S.
