Thelma Curtis Milby

Milby, Thelma Curtis, 93, of Sandston, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Milby; granddaughter, Wendy Spade; sisters, Gladys Milby, Dorothy “Dot” Vest, Nellie Jones; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Curtis, John Curtis Jr. “Jack”; father, John Curtis Sr.; and mother, Clara Curtis. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a caregiver for the family and for whoever needed her help. She was always there for her brothers and sisters. Thelma was a beautiful person with a wonderful laugh and twinkling blue eyes. Mrs. Milby is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Jackson; grandson-in-law, Edward Spade; close family friend and caregiver, Eloise McShine; and many nieces and nephews. Great thanks to Lois Hawkins as her caregiver and special thanks to New Century Hospice. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231; where a funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 3 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park.
