Thomas Tom Edward Gibson

Thomas Edward Gibson, 85, of Highland Springs, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 66 years, Ethel W.C. Gibson; father, John Edward Gibson; mother, Cammie Lawhorne Gibson; sisters, Jeanette Gibson, Dorothy (Richard) Dunn, Ann (Junior) Umphlet, Jr., and Betty (Albert) Hoover; and brother, Bobby G. Gibson. Thomas served in the United States Army and was a beloved husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and lover of all four-legged friends. He is survived by his sons, Keith (Pat) and Bill Gibson(Diane); grandchildren, Eric Gibson (Jocelyn Walker), Amanda Gibson Long (Matthew), Tatanka Gibson, Kirkland Fiorella (Michael) and Philip Wohlrab; great-grandson, Kaleb Gibson; four legged child, Kobie; four-legged grandchild, Georgie; brother, Ronnie (Pat) Gibson; mother-in-law, Hallie Chenault; brothers-in-law, Alvin Chenault (Mary Lee) and Wayne (Sue) Chenault; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will be held Saturday, February 11, at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
