Winston C. Dowell, Sr.,81, of Highland Springs, passed peacefully on December 3, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was a hard worker and proud owner of Roy's Electric Motor Service for 32 years. In his spare time he enjoyed visiting his river house and spending time on the water. Mr. Dowell served in the Army Reserve. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecile Dowell; sons, Winston Dowell Jr. and Scott Dowell; daughter, Candy Dowell; grandchildren, Dylan Dowell, Tyler Dowell and Cole Hines; close friend, Duke McGhee; special cousin, Allen Creasy; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231.
