

Ada Louise Scharer, 95, of Rochester Hills, was born August 22, 1922 passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 23, 2018. Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence to whom she was married for 58 years. Beloved mother of three sons, Larry (Kathy), Lynn, and Lloyd (Ida). Dearest Grandmother of Lisa (Brian) Walter, Lori (Michael) McAfee, Alicia (David) Morabito, Kristina (Michael) Scharer-Zielinski, Kevin (Whitney) Scharer. Precious Great Grandmother (GG) of Luke, Ella, Ayden, Ethan, Killian, Fisher, Elsie, Emma, and Preston Mae. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert Hinsdale and many loving nieces and nephews. Ada, daughter of Ray and Naomi Hinsdale, was raised on the family farm in Sand Creek, Michigan with her four brothers. A long time member of First Baptist Church of Rochester, Ada was a wonderful example of genuine Christianity—kind, considerate, and loving. She had a sweet sense of humor. Her compassionate spirit led her into a long career in nursing, working at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland for 30 years. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018, 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Rochester, 6377 Orion Rd., Rochester, Pastor Mark Cizauskas officiating. Interment to follow at Christian Memorial Cemetery. Ada will lie in state at the church Tuesday at 10 a.m. The family will also receive friends Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W.
