Anne was born in Royal Oak on April 23, 1927. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. After attending college, she worked at the Royal Oak Tribune as a Reporter.
In 1950, Charles G. "Bud" Hohn saw Anne at the Red Run Bowling Alley and that was it. They were married in September of that year and raised their family in Royal Oak and Bloomfield Hills.
In 1966, they packed up their four difficult children into a station wagon and took a 4-week trip of the western United States, an experience that would have killed an average mother!
In 1976, Anne and Bud moved to New Hartford, New York outside of Utica. They loved upstate New York and made many wonderful friends.
In 1985, they retired to Southern Pines, N.C., and in 2012 they moved back to Michigan and resided in Rochester Hills.
Anne loved sports, the performing arts, reading, travel, playing the organ and singing (though it might be said an appreciation of Anne's singing was an acquired taste), dogs, cats, and the animal world. Laughing till the tears came down! She was a tireless volunteer for local hospitals.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Hale Squires and Floy Miller Squires, and her brother Claude Hale Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Charles "Bud" Hohn, sons Tim (Lynda) of Seattle, Wa., Tom (Diane) of Washington Twp., Mi., Peter (Lisa) of Traverse City, Mi., and daughter Amy of New York, N.Y.. Grandchildren Caitlin, Sam, Brian (Kristin), Nick, Danny, Bryce and Deah.
Anne's family will welcome all to a memorial gathering on Saturday April 14th from 1pm until the time of memorial service at 4pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University drive in downtown Rochester Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's name to the charities of one's choice.
