Barbara was born the daughter of Theodore and Lela (Teel) Inabnit on September 30, 1946, in Pontiac, Michigan. Barbara graduated from Pontiac Northern High School, class of 1964. Barbara married Thomas Dodson on December 12, 1964, in Pontiac. She and Thomas raised their family in Rochester, so their children could attend St. John Lutheran Church and School. Barbara had a career as a medical assistant for over 25 years. She served on the Altar Guild and PTL at St. John.
Barbara loved her husband and family foremost. She enjoyed antiques and finding them at sales. Barbara enjoyed many summers in Southern Illinois visiting family. She and Thomas loved their many trips to the Great Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg. She was an avid reader and had a great sense of humor.
Barbara is survived by her husband Thomas Dodson; children Keli and Kirk Dodson; grandchild Ethan Dodson; sister Dorothy Johanson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Thomas Inabnit and Theodora Martin, as well as her beloved in-laws, Thomas and Anna Dodson.
The memorial visitation will be on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11am until the time of the memorial service at 1pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 University Drive, in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's honor to the family.
