Bernie and I want extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire family on Barb's passing. There is never any way to prepare for the loss of a parent. Years ago we would visit Michigan with Jim and Colleen, and Barb always welcomed us into her home. We enjoyed spending time with her and your sweet family. Looking back, I remember her favorite color red was displayed with such good fun. Please add our condolence to the many others you have no doubt received.

Barb was my older sister. We played together, fought together, slept together and loved each other. She was my big sister and fought off our brothers, who picked on me and my younger sisters! She loved life, her parents, sisters and brothers but, most of all, her six beautiful children. We shared so many special times together, i.e. vacations at Houghton Lake, Christmas Eve, family birthdays, etc. She was loved by all and will be missed by so many. God bless you Barb, please find peace and happiness with God.

Auntie Barb had such a loving heart! I loved visiting the Fabians where A Barb was funny, strict, loving and adventurous! She ensured there was always fun activities at her house like slip and slides, arts and crafts and of course the swing set! She had six kids of her own but always welcomed more! I treasured trips to the laundry mat cuz then we got to go to Friar Tucks and sit at the counter. I thought that was the best ever! Sometimes A Barb seemed tough but really she was a loving and caring wonderful Aunt. I love you Auntie Barb. Thanks for being you, raising 6 wonderful kids, hosting numerous Christmas Eve’s and for helping to lead the McGavin Clan. My heart goes out to my cousins who have lost their mom here on earth. Praying for all of you! Love, Janelle and family

I’m going to miss you so much, grandma. It will never be the same without you and your yellow and pink water mug you took everywhere.

We love you very much.

Dear Family,
Unfortunately I never got over to visit Barb at Bell Brooke like I'd planned, with the Valentine card I had for her. We both looked forward to that visit that wasn't meant to be. She was my beautiful classmate & friend from Servite High School. It was nice to meet so many of the McGavin family at our last high school reunion.
Love & prayers, as your angel is now in Heaven.

Dear Sister, Barb: You are gone, but will never be forgotten. I have known you all of my 72 years of life. You were taking care of me when I was too young to remember. But the times I do remember were "mostly" wonderful. You were one of my many "parents" and I know I caused you some grief. But, heh, it was good practice for when you had your own children. When I became an adult, you were one of my best friends. I know you must have trusted me, because you choose me to be godmother for sweet Kelly.
Brothers and Sisters: We have lost a precious sister and friend. We have to keep each other close, once again.
Nephews and Nieces: My heart goes out to each of you. This loss is most hurtful and sad for you. I am sorry. If you ever feel like you need to talk to your Mom, give me a call. Anytime day or night. I can't replace her, but I will try to help in any way I can.

All my love, Kathy/Aunt Kath

My heart hurts at the loss of my sister-in-law. Barb was a strong figure in my early childhood. She took care of me while my parents traveled or when mom was in the hospital. I became close with her six kids - my wonderful nieces and nephews. Barb, Ed, Karen, Denis, Colleen and Kelly mean the world to me. They are in my heart, and I imagine my arms around them during this time.
