Loving mother of Michael (Carey) and Craig Bruning; dear grandmother of Ethan and Emma; and caring sister of Harvey and Austin Rowley, and Shirley Nicholson. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Harold E. Bruning.
Bertha was born the daughter of Austin and Hattie (Thurnham) Rowley in Goodison, Michigan on January 14, 1939. She graduated from Rochester High School and worked at Mitzelfeld’s department store. She married Harold Bruning on June 13, 1964 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rochester, Michigan. Bertha raised her family in Shelby Township. She drove a school bus for Utica Community schools for nearly 20 years.
Bertha’s family will receive all for a visitation on Thursday April 5th, 2018 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday April 6th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester.
