
CRISSMAN, Beryl A., age 94, of Rochester, died February 21, 2012, peacefully in the home where she and her husband moved their family into in 1949. Born in Troy but raised in Rochester, she was a 1935 graduate of Rochester High School and was an accomplished musician who not only taught piano and organ in her home but was called upon to perform for many community organizations, churches and schools. On October 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to John Kenneth Crissman who was a pharmacist. They shared over fifty-two years together until his death on May 16, 1991. Beryl and Ken were the parents of Patricia (Wayne) Holden of Bath, MI, John (Debra) Crissman of Rochester Hills, Susan (Michael) Gower of Maple Grove, MN and the late Sharon (Thomas) Schwab. She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, her seventeen great-grandchildren and her sister, June (the late Earl) Cargill of Rochester. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Monday at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester. Her family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. Because of her love and pride of the City of Rochester, her family has requested that memorial contributions of Beryl’s name be made to the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
