Cliff built a life centered on family, hard work and the things he loved most. He worked as an engineer for Chrysler for 34 ½ years and was a proud member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. A dedicated student in his earlier years, he attended Wayne State University to earn his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in engineering.
In December 1960, Cliff met the love of his life, Elaine Isanhart, when his friend Jim Tamm set them up on a blind date. That chance meeting led to a lasting, 45-year marriage beginning on June 26, 1965 until her passing in August 2010. His devotion to Elaine continued until his last breath, as he listened to their wedding song, Moon River.
Cliff was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings and the University of Michigan, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his teams. In his free time, Clifford enjoyed golfing and fishing, finding peace and happiness outdoors and on the water.
Cliff is survived by his loving children, Paul (Kristine) Davis, Michael (Laura) Davis, and Karen (Michael) Ellis; his son in law, George Harvey; his brother, Charles Davis; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Michael Davis, Jennifer (Noah) Schlief, Shaun Davis, Jeffrey Davis, Emily Davis, Kaitlyn Davis, John Harvey, and Meaghan Harvey. He also leaves behind his adored great-grandchildren, Roman and Eli Schlief, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Davis (née Isanhart); his daughter, Cheri Harvey; his parents, Frank and Gertrude Davis; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Davis.
