Dan was born the only son of Frank and Mary LaRouche on March 18th, 1948 in Bay City, Michigan. He attended the University of Detroit, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Engineering. After graduating college, Dan worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Chrysler in Michigan and for Schlumberger in Houston, Texas. He was Vice President of Performance and Reliability at Huron Plastics Group in St. Clair, Michigan; and finally, in his later years, Dan started his own consulting business.
Dan met his wife of fifty years, Deborah Linn, in 1973, and they were married on February 1, 1974. Over the years, Debbie and Dan welcomed two daughters, Danielle and Aimée.
Dan was the consummate engineer and passionate business leader who treasured the memories of his global business travel. He was an early-riser who savored the unbroken routine of his morning solitude and two cups of coffee. In his personal time, he was a skilled builder of decks and furniture, an avid photographer, a creative at-home chef, and 1st place winner of the company Chili Cook-Off in Texas. He loved farm-fresh ingredients for his soups and enjoyed that time of year when he could purchase them from the roadside stands on his drive home from work.
He was a proud father who showed up to every game or performance, and also displayed the strength of multiple men, single-handedly loading all that would fit into a minivan and unloading it into every dorm room and apartment they lived in over the years at Michigan State University. In tandem with his physical strength, he loved an intellectual conversation with family; consistently coaching his core belief that one should, “Lead, follow, or get out of the way.”
Dan is survived by his loving wife Debbie, his two daughters and sons-in-law; Danielle and Sean Reardon and Aimée and Todd Pasko, and grandchildren; Ashley Reardon, Lilian and Evelyn Pasko.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; Mary and Frank LaRouche, and his beloved dog, Dakota.
