David Michael Papke

PAPKE, David Michael, age 68, of Rochester Hills, passed away December 19, 2017. He was born to Gus and the late Shirley Papke on June 29, 1949 in Pontiac. He graduated from Waterford Kettering High School in 1968, later receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Madonna University. Dave served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He served many years in law enforcement with multiple local departments and as the Superintendent of Facilities and Operations for the Charter Township of Waterford. Loving husband of Gayle Papke; father of Nate (Paula) Papke and Devan (Jenifer) Papke; grandfather of Blake, Benjamin, Jaxon, Gavin, Owen, and a grandson soon to arrive; and brother of Kenneth Papke. A Veterans Memorial Service will take place in the summer months at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thin Blue Line of Michigan, an organization which assists police officers, as well as their families, who have been injured, disabled, or have fallen in the line of duty (www.tblofmi.com).
