

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 6th, 1930, to Leslie and Dorothy Eggleston. She was the youngest of three with brothers James and Thomas.
She married William A. Mitzelfeld on August 21st, and they had two sons, Lamont (Monty) and William B. (Bradley).
“When Brad and I were 5 and 7, mom took us camping in an old green canvas army surplus tent behind our grandparents' place on Dutton Rd. near the paint creek. This was just one of the many excursions and adventures mom took us on (oftentimes including dad).
Diana was a born retailer who, along with her husband, William, built and grew Mitzelfield’s Department Store.
She and William were instrumental in getting Crittenton Hospital (now Henry Ford) to Rochester in 1967. They also helped bring Oakland University to the Rochester area as well as being lifetime members of the Presidents club.
When Diana and William moved to Florida in the 1980’s, they participated in the creation of the Naples Philharmonic (which later expanded to include an art museum and is known as Artis- Naples).
Diana had other interests as well; painting, the piano, and travel. She could sew and make clothing for herself and her dolls.
Diana is survived by her sons Lamont (and his Wife, Marla Mutch), William Bradley (Pamela Mitzelfeld). Grandchildren Victoria Mitzelfeld, the late William Drew Mitzelfeld, Allison Medlin, Tara Eastin, Allen Eastin, and Anna Markiewiez. Great-grandchildren Noah Medlin, Theodore Strand, and Greta Strand.
A funeral service will be held privately for the family at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr. Rochester, Michigan,48307.
