Dolores Estelle Szalanski

Dolores Estelle Szalanski, age 95, of Walled Lake, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Dolores was born in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Sophia Szalanski on January 17, 1929. She had a very successful career with Michigan Bell as a Managing Supervisor. Dolores was a woman of faith who loved God and spent much of her time at St. Clements Catholic Church in Centerline. She enjoyed classical music and current events, walking outside, doing yardwork and traveling. More than anything, she loved her family and was always willing to help. Her family will remember the personal sacrifices that she undertook in order to support them. They will miss her grace, energy, infectious smile, and her very special laugh. She was always kind, and always loved.

She is survived by her niece Sharon (Edward) Risko; nephew Jonathan Tonkin; grandniece

Rachel Risko; grandnephew Alan (Linda) Risko; great grandnephew, Eddie, great grandniece Anne; cousins Betsy Zwolak, Lorraine Bergler, Julie Sisson, and Steven Cizmas, Johnny Cybart, and Jeannie Obertyniuk; and lifetime friend Helen Mazowita.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Sophia; brother Joseph Szalanski, sister Irene Makowski, sister Wanda Tonkin, niece Patricia Makowski, and cousin Carole Bartus.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
