Doras Marie Hucul

It is with broken hearts that we share that our beautiful Mom took her last breath. Doras Marie Hucul, of Rochester, Michigan, passed peacefully at home surrounded by love, grace and respect on May 26, 2021 at the age of 87. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 7,1933 to Russell Doras Craun and Adalene Marie (Pittman) Craun. Doras graduated from Avondale High School where she was a cheerleader, Glee Club Member and played multiple instruments, and took several classes at Mary Grove College. She married the love of her life Arnold Leonard Hucul on May 29,1958. Doras worked as an Administrator at General Motors, Parke-Davis and Rochester Community Schools. Upon retirement she traveled to Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, China, Caribbean, and all over Europe. She was a devout member of First Congregational Church of Clarkston, where she sang in the Choir for many years. She had an immense love of her family and friends and had given everyone she knows much love throughout the years. She was very adventurous and was known to Parasail over the ocean, go boating, snow tubing and loved sledding. Her daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren see it as an honor to know such a loving, selfless, graceful, charitable, generous person who would do anything for anyone. She has now reunited with her loving husband to once again love, laugh, dance and take in a round or two of golf. She will be missed more than mere words can describe.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Karen Louise (Craig E.) Lydick and Karlene Kay (Michael) Hanlon; loving grandchildren that she was so very proud of Jacob B. Lydick (Senior at University of Michigan), Dr. Katie Hanlon (2021 MSU Medical School Graduate), and Michael A. Hanlon (2020 MSU Graduate). Sibling Margaret (Donald) Walters. Nieces and Nephews; Rhonda, Barbara Lynn, Kathy, Linda, Bob, David, Shelly, Shari, Cindy, Doris, Steve and life long friends Norma Lamar and Roger Vogler. Doras was preceded in death by Siblings Robert (Barbara) Craun, Richard (Beverly) Craun. Nephew Russell Craun and Niece Debra Walters

Cremation to take place at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, Michigan

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
