Elizabeth Ann Kersten

Liz was born the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Barnett) Mountain on July 11, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan. She graduated from St. Fred’s Catholic School in Pontiac, class of 1960 and attended Aquinas College. Liz married John Kersten in August 1995, in Rochester, Michigan and they made their home in Oakland Township.

Liz fought cancer to the end with dignity and strength. She loved her family, friends, and faith.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband John Kersten. She is survived by her children Bart (Janet) DeBrow, Buffy Hurd (Joel), Julie (Tom) Sykes, and Janis Kersten (Martin); grandchildren Reagan, Daxton, Reese, Ben, and Kersten; and brother Bill (Carol) Mountain.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2025, at 11am (10:30 gathering) at St. Andrew Catholic Church, located at 1400 Inglewood Avenue in Rochester, Michigan.
