Born in Detroit on July 18 1937, he was the middle son of the late John and Louise (Samels) Spondike.
George was the devoted husband of Norma Jean (Brooks) of Rochester Hills and the beloved father of Gary, of Royal Oak; Keith and wife Stacy of Grosse Pointe Park; and Bryan and wife Amee of Providence, RI. George also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Beatrice.
George was a warm, kind and humble man who loved his family, his dog Ginger, and friends dearly. He proudly served his country in the Navy and was an avid golfer, enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He was a respected member of the local business community and longtime member of the Sterling Heights Rotary Club. George worked in the financial services business for 35 years.
There will be a celebration in honor of George’s life for family and close friends on Saturday, October 9th at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
